Finish it up Friday | Empties #5 | Hair Care Products I've Used Up

Today I bring you another empties post and it features all of the hair care I've used up over the last few months. There isn't that much here, but you still might need some tea and a biscuit because apparently I like the ramble. *sorry*

Got2b Oil-licious Styling Oil, £4.07, link
I didn't really like this all that much. It was okay, but not something I would buy again. It didn't help calm my frizz, and I couldn't really say that it helped style my hair. I used it as a pre-shampoo treatment to use it up which was okay. It helped add some moisture but other oils and serums work better for me.

Toni and Guy Straight and Shine Smoothing Balm, Discontinued (much to my dismay)
I adore this stuff and stocked up on about 6 when I found out it was to be no more. The people of toni and guy have told me that there is something similar in their reformulated line but its a cream rather than a balm like this so I'm not quite ready to brave it. This balm is like a super thick serum that can be used in wet or dry hair. My hair is crazy dry and frizzy so this works in my dry hair but for normal hair or even dry hair it might be a bit to intense for you on dry hair. It makes a lovely leave in conditioner though after washing your hair to help with conditioning and controlling frizz and to aid styling when dry.

Phil Smith Long Locks Conditioner, Discontinued
I picked this up for £1 when it went on clearance and I'm sad it is discon. The conditioner was really nice for something that doesn't claim to be intensive. It left my hair feeling nice and soft and it helped control my frizzy frizzy mop head. I did often follow it with a mask but it was nice combined or used alone.
Wen Sweet Almond and Mint Cleansing Conditioner, £26.95 full size, link
I don't think this was large enough for me to really get a good idea of it was good or bad. I don't think I would purchase this full size because it is crazy expensive and it didn't wow me.
Macadamia Deep Repair Mask*, £33.95 for 500ml, link
I wish I loved this as much as everyone else but I didn't. I feel like someone is waiting to slap me for saying that because it is a cult product loved by many but it just didn't wow me. It worked nicely as a mask but I think I can find something just as good for a cheaper price. A full review will follow soon.
Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day Intensive Conditioner, £5.50, link
I hated this conditioner. There was nothing intense about it, and it actually made my hair more frizzy and dry feeling after washing it with this. It smelled amazing, but it just didn't  work for me. I think I'm going to stick to the S&G skincare and bodycare bits and avoid any hair things from now on.
L'Oreal Preference Hair Dye Conditioner from Ombre Kit, £6.99 for hair dye kit, link
I had this conditioner from when I ombred my hair a while a go  (it's gone now) and just didn't end up using this when I died it. It was a good conditioner but for something that is meant to go over newly bleached hair I could have been more intense and hydrating.

Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Colour Hair Dye in 5.62 Vibrant Red, £5.69, link
I used this when I went back red a few months back. I liked this dye but I think I would stick with the Live XXL colours when I want something brighter. This did smell really nice for hair dye and it didn't completely frazzle my hair. It did fade, like any red, but it did stay vibrant (with the help of colour sealing conditioners etc) for a few weeks.

The TMI Tag

I think this TAG was created by Carrie Hope Fletcher but don't quote me on that. Every one on the Youtubes has been doing this but since I don't make videos I thought I would do it here on my blog. Enjoy :)

1: What are you wearing?

Christmas PJs. They are covered in cute little penguins and super warm.
2: Ever been in love?

No.
3: Ever had a terrible breakup?

No.
4: How tall are you?

5'2''
5: How much do you weigh?

Too much.
6: Any tattoos?

Nope! But I really want one.
7: Any piercings?

Just my ears. I want to get a second hole done in my ears but the first time I got them pierced was a bit of a horrific experience so I'm to much of a whimp to get them done again.
8: OTP?

To many! The ultimate OTP had to be Ross and Rachel right? But, recently I've read some more The Mortal Instruments so Clary and Jace and Alec and Magnus. I've also recently read the latest Bloodlines book and ship Sydney and Adrian ALOT. Mary and Francis from Reign too.
9: Favorite show?

Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Pretty Little Liars and more recently I've been loving Reign.
10: Favorite bands?

I'll always have a soft spot for Paramore (they were the first gig I ever went too) but I perfer them a few years a go. I also love Fall Out Boy and some classic bands like Take That, Boyzone and Westlife pretty much made up my childhood playlist so you've gotta love them.
11: Something you miss?

My mum. I live in London for Uni and don't get to see her nearly as much as I used to.
12: Favorite song?

I adore Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls but I can't say what my all time favourite is because there are just TOO MANY!
13: How old are you?

20. I'm 21 in July.
14: Zodiac sign?

Cancer.
15: Quality you look for in a partner?

Sense of humor and someone who can be really sweet and kind.
16: Favorite Quote?

17: Favorite actor?

JLaw and Kristen Stewart are joint first, closely followed by young Hugh Grant.
18: Favorite color?

I don't really have one but it would probably be a toss up between very dark burgundy red or bright lime green. The red for clothes and makeup and the lime green for things like house hold accessories.
19: Loud music or soft?

It totally depends on the situation. I love the blast music really loud after a bad day to just try and forget things, and I love it loud when I just wanna dance around my room and sing really badly to it. I prefer soft music when I want it to be for background music if I'm reading or studying.
20: Where do you go when you’re sad?

To bed or my room and curl up with a soppy book to try and cheer me up.
21: How long does it take you to shower?

It depends. If I wash my hair it could take anything from 30 minutes to an hour because I love to leave conditioner on and have a bit of a read. If I just need to hop in and out it takes me like 5 minutes.
22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

On a normal day, for uni or work probably about 20-30 minutes but if I have time I will use every last second just messing about with my makeup and clothes.
23: Ever been in a physical fight?

No. I couldn't punch my way out of a paper back.
24: Turn on?

A sense of humour, confidence and kindness.
25: Turn off?

Arrogance and bad personal hygiene.
26: The reason I joined Youtube?

I didn't join youtube.
27: Fears?

Losing a parent. Just thinking about it scares me more than anything else.
28: Last thing that made you cry?

Alcohol. I'm that kind of drunk person. I try not to drink to much because crying for no reason is STUPID.
29: Last time you said you loved someone?

To my dad.
30: Meaning behind your YouTube Name?

I don't have a YouTube name. For comments and stuff like that though it's just my first name and last initial.
31: Last book you read?

Carrie by Stephen King. I must say I don't get the Stephen King hype, and want to read more because I thought it would be terrifying and horrific and Carrie just wasn't. Maybe something else by him would be more scary.
32: The book you’re currently reading?

The Tempest by Julie Cross. I needed something and little more light hearted and easy to read after Carrie.
33: Last show you watched?

Pretty Little Liars, and can I just say I don't want to believe it.
34: Last person you talked to?

My friend Amy. She's helping me choose if I should try and go back to my naturally ginger hair colour or do something bright.
35: The relationship between you and the person you last texted?

My boyfriend.
36: Favorite food?

I don't really have a favourite food. I suppose pasta might be my favourite but I'm more a eat to live person rather than live to eat.
37: Place you want to visit?

Venice
38: Last place you were?

The Kitchen.
39: Do you have a crush?

Yes.
40: Last time you kissed someone?

Yesterday.
41: Last time you were insulted?

I don't think I've ever been truly insulted. Saying that now, someone will probably go and do it. Please don't!
42: Favorite flavor of sweet?

I love orange flavor sweets. Anything with a hint or orange and it will last about 30 seconds around me. The green sweets (apple or lime) are close to orange though.
43: What instruments do you play??

Does the recorder count?
44: Favorite piece of jewelery?

I have a ring that belonged to my Nan when she was alive. I don't wear it but I adore it.
45: Last sport you played?

Netball in like Year 8. I don't do sport.
46: Last song you sang?

I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift.
47: Favorite chat up line?

Nope!
48: Have you ever used it?

Nope!
49: Last time you hung out with anyone?

Monday.
50: Who should answer these questions next?

Anyone who wants to.

I hope you enjoyed that little tag, and learnt a little more about me. Please leave a link if you have done this, blog of vlog so I can check it out!

Thanks for reading!

Books, How I Read Tag + Other Blogs

I don't know if many people know this but I also write a book blog as well as Some Sparkle and Shine. It's called A Little Bit of Literature and you can see it here. It's quite new but I would love for you to go and give it a glance if you like books or movies or just fancy reading something a little different.

This is kind of a shameless plug for that blog but to go along with that I thought I would do the How I Read Tag here to give you an idea of what you might find over there!

So, without further or do here is the Tag:

(1)How do you find out about new books to read?
I find new books to read through book tube, book blogs and just browsing in the shop. I don't like to go into books too well informed about them so I like to grab something that seems intriguing in a shop and take it home. I've found some book tubers that are exactly the same as me when it comes to reading things (for example what they find good and what they enjoy) so I usually gravitate towards books that they recommend or have read as well.
(2)How did you get into reading?

Twilight! I honestly cannot remember a book I read before I read Twilight. It was a book I grew with and I'll always be thankful for the series because without it I wouldn't be reading. Reading helps with so many things, even if you aren't reading what people consider to be brilliant literature. It helps with spelling, speaking and for those in school, at uni or who enjoy writing it helps with that as well. It's also nice to get lost in a place that isn't surrounded by your problems.
(3)How has your taste in books changed as you've gotten older?

I think my taste is changing ever so slightly but I still like the same kind of things. Because I have read more I can appreciate certain books more and am able to tell what is "good" and "bad", to me at least. I don't think my genre taste has changed but I do find myself looking in adult sections more for genres that fit my tastes but are for a more adult audience.
(4)How often do you buy books?

Not too often. I can go months and months without buying books but when I do let myself buy a book it gets extreme. I can't just buy 1 or 2, I go crazy. It ends up being stupid amounts of books so maybe I should spread the spending out over the months instead of taking breaks and going to extremes.
(5) How did you get into BookTubing? book blogging?

I got into book blogging because I found the book tube community and began to get into reading more. I did a few reviews of books and movies on my beauty blog *this blog* but it doesn't fit the blog so I thought I would start a little blog for book talk and throw in some movies talk over there as well. I think more random things might go over on the blog too so I can keep this blog focused.
(6)How do you react when you don't like the end of a book?

Badly. I usually ends up with the book being thrown across the room or with me shouting at inanimate objects *to book* *the wall* *the air*.
(7)How often have you taken a sneaky look at the back page of a book to see if it's a happy ending?

To often. I don't so much anymore but at one point I looked at the end of every book I read. I don't think the last page ever gives too much away but I just liked to look to see if the characters I was starting to like were still alive and well by the end.
(8)How many people are you going to tag, and who are they?

I'm not going to tag anyone specific because this is quite an old tag now and I'm sure most people have done it but if you want to do it go ahead and be sure to leave me a link in the comments so I can check out your answers.

Thanks for reading guys and don't forget to check out A Little Bit Of Literature here for more book talk.

Finish It Up Friday | Empties #4 | Samples I've Used Up

Skinetica  Anti-Blemish Skin Treatment*
, £9.99, full size, Link
Unfortunatly this made my skin freak out. I don't know what it was but for some reason I reacted to it. I did use this up to see if it was some sort of bizzare "purging" thing because people rave about this but my skin didn't like it. I sounds like it's a rare reaction so it might be worth trying it out if you have problems with blemish prone skin.
Decleor Phytopeel Face Peel Exfoliating Cream, £23.40 full size, Link
This was okay. It wasn't really a big enough sample for me to use over a long period of time like I like to do with skincare but it was okay in the few times I could use it. I don't think I would purchase this because it's crazy expensive for me when I have cheaper skincare that works for me.
Institut Esthederm Bronze Repair Anti Wrinkle Tanning Cream, £55 full size, Link
I didn't really get this product. I'm not sure what it was to be quite honest. Was it a self tanner? A SPF? I don't really know so I used it with caution. It didn't make me orange or anything but I couldn't see if it was SPF. I should have googled it but I just kinda used it to get rid of it. I don't have an opinion on it and I wouldn't repurchase for the HUGE price tag.

Icecrystals by Freezer 24-7, £35 full size, Link
Used this but didn't get it. I think it was just a face wash type thing and I wouldn't purchase the full size. Far to expensive for my liking and it wasn't amazing!
Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in Light, £9.99 full size, Link
I liked this BB cream but if I were to purchase a BB cream from Garnier it would be the oil free formula. I find that to be longer lasting and the fair colour matches me. It did even out my skintone, offer a little coverage and it helped keep my dry skin from looking disgusting.
Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10, £34.50 full size, Link
I got this free in the post from Vichy when I signed up on their sight. It was a nice sample and I liked using the serum but I couldn't notice any difference or justify the price with the small amount you get here. I would use it again if I had a sample or got it as a gift for some strange reason but I wouldn't buy it for myself.
Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 Eyes and Lashes, £34.50 full size, Link
I didn't like this all that much. I used it on my eyes and on my lashes but felt really strange doing it. I think I'm just gonna stick to an eye cream and nothing for my lashes. My lashes aren't great but they aren't that bad that I need a serum or treatment for them at the moment. I'm also only 20 years old so I don't need anything to special for under my eyes at the moment.

What Beauty Product? Tag

After having a recent catch up on Bloglovin, I found that Belle-Amie had started a new Tag. I thought it sounded really interesting, and thought I would give it a go. So, I'll just jump into the questions:

1. You’re about to head out for a night out with the girls. What lipstick and lip gloss combo do you put on to make yourself feel gorgeous?
Recently, I've been loving dramatic eyes and nude lips. I've been loving the MAC Blankety with a little bit of Seventeen Ultimate Volume Lipgloss in the shade In The Nude in the centre to try and give the impression I don't have really thin lips.

2. You’re running late for school/ work and need to leave the house in 5 minutes! Which 3 essential makeup products do you apply for a naturally beautiful look?
I don't know if I've ever just worn 3 products haha I like to try and fit everything in if I can even in a rush but if I had to use just 3 products I think I would go with a light layer of the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation, a good lashing of L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara and I'd have to fill in my brows. I've been loving the 2True brow pencil in shade 1 for that recently. Optional extras that take little time would be a little Woodwinked eyeshadow all over the lid and a dusting of MUA Bronzer in shade 3.

3. You’re packing for a week away on holiday. What “all in one” eye shadow palette do you bring with you?
I really don't own that many palettes. I'm not the kind of person that uses lots of shadows in my eyes. I normally grab one shadow to bring with me and make sure it looks great blended out. Woodwinked from MAC is probably the best example of this. It looks different on the lid and when blended so it looks like you've put in more effort than you actually have. So, I'd probably bring my MAC palette because that's where Woodwinked lives.

4. You’re heading to the beach on a Summer’s day and will be wearing your favourite bikini. What nail polish shade do you wear on your fingers and toes to complete the look?
I never paint my nails, or go to the beach or wear a bikini but if I had to choose something that would be great for summer I would choose a bright pink/fuchsia colour and it would probably be something from the Rimmel 60s line because they are pretty awesome polishes. The second alternative would be a pastel blue or mint but that never looks so great on toes, at least to me.

5. You’re getting ready for a date night to a new restaurant in town. Which perfume do you pick out from your collection to impress him?
I would choose either my Chanel Coco Mademoiselle or my Kim Kardashain perfume. I prefer my Chanel (duh?!) but my boyfriend perfers the Kim Kardashian option.

6. You’re spending the weekend away and you only want to pack your beauty basics. What 3 brushes/ tools do you bring to do your makeup?
I would take 2 eyeshadow brushes, one shader brush and a blending brush. I've been using the super cheap Superdrug eyeshadow brush and the No7 Blending Brush. I would also grab a powder or blush brush to use for blush, bronzer, powder and highlight. I think my option would be the Real Techniques Blush brush.

7. You’ve just woken up to crazy bed hair and have no time to wash it. What hair products do you use to tame your unruly locks?
This is me EVERYDAY! I have frizzy, curly and REALLY thick hair that is super hard to keep calm and style. To try and tame the frizz I would throw on some of the Toni and Guy Smooth and Straight balm. Unfortunately this is discontinued but I stocked up (with like 8 bottles) before it went. It's amazing, and can help define some of my curls too. If I'm a little heavy handed with the balm or have some major roots showing I would throw in some of the Superdrug Chocolate brownie Dry Shampoo to make it feel a little refreshed, cover the roots and absorb any excess "oiliness" from the balm.

8. Your friend wants to expand her makeup collection and asks for your help. What high street product and what high end product do you recommend her to try?
For something high street I think I would recommend something for lips or eyes. I think the drugstore does lip and eye products so well that you don't need to invest in them quite as much. A would recommend the MUA single eyeshadows or L'Oreal mascaras (particularly the Miss Manga). For lips I would recommend something from the Rimmel Kate Moss range. I love the original and the matte versions of these and they have so many good colour. For high end recommendations I would choose something for the face. I love YSL foundations so either the Touche Eclat for summer or the Youth Liberator for a little more coverage. If they wanted something FULL coverage, Estee Lauder double wear would be the first thing on my list.

If you have done this, please leave me a link in the comment because I'm nosy and always love to know what other people would choose.

Thanks for reading!

Lady Gaga | Fame

 Lady Gaga Fame | £31 | link

Fame is the first prefume from superstar Lady Gaga. It's quite the eyechatcher with it's potion like black liquid and it really does smell good. I wasn't expecting to like the scent but the fruity scent is something I enjoy and think many people would.
The "egg" shaped bottle and claw like lid is a nice shoutout to her crazy egg costume thing she wore once but it is more subtle than I thought it would be from Lady Gaga. I expected total craziness when this launched but its just the right amount of Gaga and normal perfume bottle.

I'm not entirely sure why people go a little crazy over the black liquid. While it might be the first black liquid for a perfume it certainly isn't the first colour liquid. Joop Homme is a darker pink/purple and others have tinted liquids. It's not something new but maybe the black just makes it more noticeable for some people.

The dramatic definitions of the scents and notes are totally what I expected from Lady Gaga.  Tears of Belladonna, crushed heart of Tiget Orchidea are just a couple of the notes that make up this scent. Other notes include a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and essences of saffron and honey drops. I really like that the scent is noted on the box, which helps you identify what you are smelling. I haven't seen to many perfumes list the notes on the packaging before.

I would say this has a okay lasting time on the skin. I'm not super impressed but people have picked up on the perfume a few hours (maybe 4 or so) after putting it on. I like to top it up so I take this on the go with me. It's not the most travel friendly bottle but I like my big bucket bag so it doesn't take up to much space. You can always try a travelo if you want something small to take with you.

You can pick it up in various sizes ranging from 30ml - 100ml or in giftsets. 50ml retails for £31 and you can pick it up here.

Empties #3.5 | Makeup I've Used Up Part 2

So, I didn't plan to split this post up but after I saw the length of the post if I kept it one I knew I had to split it up so welcome to part 2 of my empties, featuring the makeup I've used up.  You can check out part 1 here

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Fair, £7.99, link
This isn't totally gone but it's nearly there. I think I'm going to give up on it now and just got buy another one. I love this powder. It feels creamy, blends really nicely, gives a good amount of shine control and offers a little coverage. I haven't got a new one yet because I cannot find the shade "Fair". All the stores near me have light, medium and dark which are far to dark for my skin tone.

MUA Eyeshadow in Pearl Shade 1, £1, link
I love this shade and have repurchased this already. In fact I have two now. The light creamy colour makes it perfect for a number of things. I love using this all over the lid for a bright eyed look and it also worked great a brow bone and inner corner highlight. The fact it's off white or creamy in colour makes it bright and highlighting but it's not as harsh and white. I have also used this very lightly and a face highlight for a super intense highlight.

Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna, £26, link
I love this bronzer, and I'm sure you've all heard about it before. It's a nice non orange and non muddy bronzer that you can use to warm up the skin or to contour with. It does have a little shimmer in there but it doesn't look shimmery on the skin it just gives it a nice "glow" quality. I like that it doesn't totally mattify the skin, because I don't like that look. I will repurchase this at some point, but I've found a bronzer for £1 that I'm in love with so I think I'll stick with that for a while. (You can read about my bargain bronzers here

NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Golden, £5.50, Discontinued
I really loved this cream blush because it was subtle and gave the skin a nice dewy quality. The shade was stunning, neutral mauve with golden shimmer, and the texture was great. Sadly, this isn't finished it just dried up on me. I still is a little emollient but it's formed a dry layer over the top so I know it's time for it to go. I will repurchase cream blushes from NYX but sadly this shade is no longer available.

MAC Lipstick in To Catch A Sailor, £15, Limited Edition
I must confess I didn't use this up, it actually broke and I gave up trying to fix it to use it again. It wasn't the best shade, I must admit (it was a frost bronze shade) so I don't think I would have used it. I wouldn't buy this again, but I love a good MAC lipstick so I would buy other shades.

Eylure Lashfix Glue, £2.75, link
This isn't finished, it's just gone off. It stinks, is gloopy and just all around needs to go in the bin. I didn't like it that much, and prefer the Revlon lash glue so I would just buy that.

NYX Round Lipstick in Narcissus, £4, link
I liked this lipstick but I wouldn't repurchase this. I used it while I had it, really liked the colour and liked that it was creamy but it was super messy.  It was just to creamy, broke a little and ended up all over the tube. Also, the end (which showcased the colour) fell of and it now lurking in my house somewhere. The creaminess also meant that it didn't wear all that long on the lips.

Collection Primed and Ready Face Primer, £5.99, link
I liked this primer and would repurchase if I need a bargain primer. I loved the texture (silicone) and I liked that it was a clear primer. It helped "fill in" pores, smooth the skin and gave my foundation to stick to when I put it on.

ELF Studio Lip Liner and Blend Brush in Nude Pink, £3.75, link
I loved this liner. It was cheap, good quality and went with quite a few lipsticks I owed. It kept lipstick from feathering and made it last longer than it normally would. I liked that I didn't need a sharpener and would totally repurchase this shade and more when I make and ELF order.

MAC Brow Pencil in Fling, £13, link
I loved this brow pencil, but I don't think I would repurchase this simply because I have found brow products for a fraction of the price that work just as well. I loved the colour, perfect for the light haired girls out there. The pencil wasn't waxy or anything like that and it really helped create a defined, natural looking brow.

Sleek Eau La La Liner in White Noise, £4.99, link
I love Sleek liners but they dry up quite quickly. I think I would have gotten through this if I used it everyday but because I have so many liners this one was rejected for a little while and when I went to use it the once creamy liner was all dried up and unusable.

Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Liner in Charcoal Grey, £4.49, link
This Maybelline liner has a similar story to the Sleek liner, but it was my fault. I think I left the cap off and the really creamy lead dried up and fell out of the pencil casing. I loved the liner before that though, and I've repurchased it in black. It lasted a long time and went on really well.

Collection Eye Brow Definer in Blonde, £2.79, link
The Collection brow definers are great products for those who want a waxy pencil that can give definition and help tame unruly brows. It's best used with a light hand, because a heavier hand can make it look really waxy and unnatural. I like it while I used it, and the ashy tone was something I seldom find on the high street.

Sleek Eau La La Liner in Tonic, £4.99, link
This gorgeous green liner has the same untimely ending as the white noise shade. It dried up and I wouldn't repurchase it because they dried up quicker than I would like.

Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner in Black, £2.99, link
I enjoyed this liner but I don't think I would repurchase it, simply because I cannot deal with felt tip liners. I don't know how people say they are easier because I would much rather get a traditional liquid liner or gel liner to get a nice liner look. The colour was nice, quite black and when I managed to make it look okay it lasted really well.

Empties #3 | Makeup I've Used Up Part 1

This post is going to focus on Makeup that I've used up. I don't often use up a full product because I have too much makeup and try and switch it out. That might give you some idea of how long I've been saving these products because there is quite a lot of makeup here.  I won't say too much on each because I don't want you to feel like your reading a novel but I'll let you know if I would repurchase and link up any reviews I might have done.

MeMeMe Flawless Cream Foundation in Blushing Beige, £12.50, link
I got this free with an order I made with MeMeMe ages ago and didn't expect to love it but I really did. The shade was a little dark for me, but for something that was free it was a pretty decent match. I would repurchase this but it seems like MeMeMe is no longer stocked in the UK and online they only have darker shades.

MAC Select SPF15 Foundation in NC20, Discontinued.
I picked this up in a blog sale ages a go as a way of trying out some MAC foundations without the huge price tag. I think this was 3/4 full and only cost me £5. The colour was great, though I prefer NC15 and I really enjoyed the foundation. It's a shame this is discontinued because I would have repurchased but I might try something similar if anyone has any suggestions?

MUA BB Cream in Light, £4, link
I brought this when everyone was jumping on the BB cream band wagon. I wanted to find a cheap BB cream that actually offered what I wanted but I soon learnt BB creams, no matter what the price, were not for me. This was a very thick BB cream which I found harder to blend that I thought it should have been. The colour was very nice though so I watered it down with a little more moisturizer and used it as a tinted primer

Sleek Be Beautiful Blemish Balm in Fair, £8.99, link
I really liked this BB cream but it was more of a foundation that BB cream. It offered light but buildable coverage, and didn't have the light effect other BB creams have. It wore quite well, and was perfect paired with a simple pressed powder. I used it on days when I was just popping out to the shops or felt like I was having a good skin day. I wouldn't repurchase because I've found other things that work better for me but for people with a light skin tone that want a light coverage foundation this is for you.

Maybelline  Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light, £7.99, link
This is my all time favourite BB cream, and I have repurchased it. It offers a nice light coverage, blurs imperfections and sits on the skin nicely. The colour is perfect and I find I can use this two ways. I really like using it as a primer under foundation to make it stick and to alleviate the need for layering up foundation that can cake up. I also like using it alone, with some concealer and a powder with a little coverage.

A while a go I brought a little sample pack thing on eBay and I finally worked my way though some of them. The only one I didn't get off eBay was the Max Factor sample, which came in a little kit you sometimes get free when you buy something from Max Factor.

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer, £6.99 full size, link
I liked this because it was just a basic primer that worked. It feels like the Laura Mercier primer on the skin, but is just a little less "priming" than that. It did make my makeup last long and gave it a slightly smoother base but the Laura Mercier option makes my make up last until I take it off.

Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation in Natural Beige, £9.99 full size, link
I didn't enjoy this all that much but mostly because of the colour. It seems that when you get free gifts and it includes foundation or concealer they assume everyone is tan. Not the case Max Factor, but I did try this out and mix it with some super pale foundations to use it up. It was okay, but I wouldn't repurchase it in the full size.

Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Gel Foundation in Ivory, £6.99 full size, link
I really liked this foundation and am pretty gutted it's been discontinued. It was a nice texture, had a decent coverage and it lasted pretty well. It was nice on my dry skin, and the gel texture made it great on drier patches and it felt more hydrating.

Rimmel Match Perfection Liquid Foundation in Light Porcelain, £6.99 full size, link
I have purchased this in it's full size. I love that the colour is actually a match for me, and the coverage is great for everyday wear. It's not going to hide everything, which I sometimes like, it does even out the skin tone. It helps blurs the appearance of pores and blemishes. It offers a light to medium coverage and is buildable. The finish is nice and natural, and it doesn't cling to dry patches.

Rimmel BB Cream in Light, £6.99 full size, link
I like this BB cream, but I wouldn't repurchase this shade. I might look into the Very Light shade that has been released recently, but I think the matte bb cream might be more for me. I don't love matte finish things on my face but this is crazy shiny so I had to pile on powder to knock out the shine. It was okay, but there are better bb creams about.

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Foundation in Ivory, £8.99 full size, link
I like this but I don't love it. I found the matte finish a little to much for my dry skin .If I was having a good skin day or used a crazy intense moisturizer then this worked for me but not all the time. The colour was nice, and the staying powder was lovely. I have purchased a super stay foundation but it is the newer option which isn't as matte but lasts super long on the skin.

Part two will be up Friday because, while I wanted this to be one post I know that nobody wants to be reading a novel on my garbage. Check it out here
